ePortfolio
EPortfolio is a web application for collecting and presenting all kinds of academic, professional, and personal information. Students and staff throughout the vast University of Minnesota system have been using it for years, and by 2007, it was beginning to show its age; the dated design was thwarting use of the application and making it difficult for the ePortfolio development team to add new functionality. I partnered with them on what became a two-headed monster of a project: spiffing-up/simplifying the interface and designing a giant new chunk of functionality that created social-networking-type communities and allowed instructors to evaluate portfolios. Whew!
