I designed and built the Basic Shapes as a personal project to demonstrate the tenets of a responsive, mobile-first approach to web design. The site intelligently adapts itself depending on the size of the screen, from full-sized monitors to wee smartphones. Everyone gets the same content, but the layout changes appropriately. Viewed on an iPhone, the content is linearized into a single column; as screen size increases, the content stretches itself out into multiple columns.
