Everything else on my site is work I designed myself, but I wanted to include a page to talk about a different kind of role I sometimes play: behind-the-scenes coder/CMS implementer dude. I’ve been lucky to collaborate as a technical partner with some wonderful design firms over the past year. Besides handling the nuts-and-bolts of realizing their designs, I’ve offered guidance in usability, information architecture, and best practices when designing for the web.
I built both of the sites shown here with ExpressionEngine, a wonderful content management system that offers tremendous power and flexibility while still being elegant and easy to use. Pretty much all the content, images, and videos you see on these sites can be easily updated through a simple web interface without having to touch a lick of code. Each of these sites also make extensive use of jQuery for slick and speedy interface enhancements.
The Tandemodus site was, of course, designed by the gents at Tandemodus, and Lake Toback is a :byDesign Partners design.
